Job Description: Power Plant Operations Procurement Specialist
Position Overview:
The Power Plant Operations Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the procurement activities related to power plant operations. This role involves coordinating and executing procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for power plant operations. The Procurement Specialist will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors to ensure smooth procurement processes and optimize the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans for power plant operations, in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
2. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors based on their capabilities, quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
3. Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and supplier capabilities.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and define procurement needs, specifications, and requirements for power plant operations.
5. Prepare and issue requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotes (RFQs), and requests for information (RFIs) to potential suppliers and vendors.
6. Evaluate proposals, negotiate contracts, and establish agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
7. Monitor and manage supplier performance, including contract compliance, delivery schedules, quality, and pricing.
8. Implement and maintain procurement-related policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
9. Resolve any vendor-related issues or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
10. Collaborate with finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments to suppliers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably within the energy and utilities sector or power plant operations.
3. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make well-informed decisions.
5. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling procurement-related documentation and data.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors.
8. Proficient in using procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to procurement and supply chain management.
10. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
