Job Summary:
The Plant Operations Technician is responsible for efficiently operating and maintaining power plant equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure uninterrupted power generation. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, monitoring plant operations, conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and coordinating maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate and monitor power plant equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
2. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, including turbines, generators, boilers, and auxiliary systems, to identify potential issues or abnormalities.
3. Analyze and interpret data from various control systems to optimize plant operations and identify areas for improvement.
4. Perform regular maintenance tasks, including lubrication, filter changes, cleaning, and equipment calibrations.
5. Respond promptly to alarms and equipment malfunctions, troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous power generation.
6. Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities, including equipment repairs and overhauls.
7. Maintain accurate records of plant operations, equipment maintenance, and repair activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
8. Conduct regular safety inspections and adhere to all safety protocols, identifying and addressing potential hazards promptly.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures to optimize plant performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
10. Participate in training programs and stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in power plant operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in power plant operations or a related field.
3. Strong knowledge of power plant systems, equipment, and processes.
4. Proficient in operating and troubleshooting various power plant equipment, including turbines, generators, boilers, and auxiliary systems.
5. Familiarity with control systems and ability to analyze and interpret data from these systems.
6. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions and operational issues.
7. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
8. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues and maintenance personnel.
9. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
10. Commitment to safety, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
