Job Summary:
The Nuclear Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable nuclear regulations, laws, and standards within the organization. This role requires a meticulous and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of nuclear energy regulations and the ability to assess and mitigate compliance risks. The Nuclear Regulatory Compliance Analyst will collaborate with various departments to develop and maintain compliance programs and provide guidance on regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and interpret nuclear energy regulations, laws, and standards to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
2. Assess, evaluate, and communicate compliance risks to management and relevant stakeholders.
3. Develop and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
4. Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections to identify any non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and approve changes in procedures, processes, or equipment to ensure compliance with regulations.
6. Provide guidance and training to employees on regulatory requirements, compliance programs, and best practices.
7. Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies, as required, to demonstrate compliance with applicable regulations.
8. Participate in regulatory inspections, audits, and investigations, ensuring all necessary documentation and records are available.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, changes in regulations, and emerging compliance issues related to nuclear energy.
10. Assist in the development and maintenance of effective compliance monitoring systems and tools.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
2. In-depth knowledge of nuclear energy regulations, laws, and standards, including but not limited to, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations.
3. Previous experience working in a regulatory compliance role within the nuclear energy industry is highly desired.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and mitigate compliance risks effectively.
5. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements accurately.
6. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain regulatory concepts clearly to various stakeholders.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
9. Proficient in using compliance management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
10. Knowledge of auditing principles and practices is preferred.
