Position: Nuclear Reactor Control Room Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Nuclear Reactor Control Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the safe and efficient operation of the nuclear reactor control room. They will lead a team of control room operators, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while maintaining peak performance of the nuclear reactor and associated systems. The incumbent will contribute to the continuous improvement of operational procedures and provide guidance to control room operators during routine operations, maintenance activities, and emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and lead a team of control room operators to ensure efficient and safe operation of the nuclear reactor control room.
2. Monitor and control reactor parameters, including temperature, pressure, and power levels, to maintain safe and stable conditions.
3. Implement operating procedures to optimize reactor performance and maintain regulatory compliance.
4. Coordinate with other plant departments to plan and execute maintenance activities, ensuring minimal impact on reactor operations.
5. Provide guidance and direction to control room operators during normal operations, as well as during abnormal or emergency situations.
6. Conduct regular audits of control room procedures and identify areas for improvement, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
7. Collaborate with plant management to develop and implement training programs for control room operators, enhancing their technical skills and knowledge.
8. Monitor and analyze reactor performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues, taking appropriate corrective actions as required.
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to control room operations, including shift logs, incident reports, and maintenance activities.
10. Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to nuclear reactor operations, and implement best practices accordingly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear power plant operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
3. In-depth knowledge of nuclear reactor systems, control room operations, and safety protocols.
4. Strong understanding of nuclear regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
6. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
8. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
9. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.
10. Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
