Job Summary:
The Energy Modeling Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Energy Engineering team by conducting energy modeling analysis and providing technical expertise for various energy projects. This position requires a strong understanding of energy systems, data analysis, and modeling techniques. The Energy Modeling Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, optimize, and evaluate energy models to support decision-making processes and improve energy efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform energy modeling analysis using sophisticated software tools to simulate energy systems, evaluate energy consumption, and identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.
2. Utilize historical energy data and statistical methods to develop accurate baseline energy models for various facilities or processes.
3. Collaborate with the Energy Engineering team to develop energy efficiency measures and strategies based on modeling results.
4. Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of different energy management strategies and technologies on energy consumption, cost, and carbon footprint.
5. Analyze energy data from multiple sources to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies, and provide actionable insights to drive energy efficiency initiatives.
6. Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing modeling results, findings, and recommendations for stakeholders at all levels.
7. Stay updated on emerging energy modeling tools, methodologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve energy modeling capabilities.
8. Collaborate with external partners, consultants, and vendors to ensure accurate and reliable energy models are developed and maintained.
9. Support the Energy Engineering Manager in evaluating and selecting appropriate energy modeling software and tools.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in energy modeling, energy engineering, or a related field.
3. Proficient in utilizing energy modeling software (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST, TRNSYS) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R) to perform complex energy simulations and analysis.
4. Strong understanding of energy systems, thermodynamics, and energy-efficient technologies.
5. Solid knowledge of statistical analysis methods and experience in handling large energy datasets.
6. Familiarity with building systems and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems is highly desirable.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
9. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
10. Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on industry trends, technologies, and advancements in energy modeling.
