Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Energy Policy Analyst to join our dynamic Energy Engineering team. The Energy Policy Analyst will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, analysis, and evaluation of energy policies, regulations, and legislation. This role will play a crucial part in shaping our organization's energy strategies and ensuring compliance with relevant energy policies. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of energy systems and policies, and the ability to effectively communicate complex information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of energy policies, regulations, and legislation at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Evaluate the impact of existing and proposed energy policies on our organization's operations, goals, and objectives.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and policy developments to identify opportunities and potential risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the feasibility and implications of implementing energy policies and programs.
- Analyze and interpret energy data, market reports, and environmental impact assessments to inform decision-making processes.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and recommendations outlining the potential impact of energy policies on our organization.
- Support the development and implementation of energy conservation initiatives and strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, government agencies, and industry experts to stay informed on policy changes and influence decision-making processes.
- Stay up to date with energy industry regulations, market dynamics, and advancements in renewable energy technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering, Environmental Policy, Economics, or a related field. A master's degree is highly preferred.
- Proven experience as an Energy Policy Analyst or a similar role in the energy or utilities industry.
- Strong knowledge of energy systems, policies, and regulations, including but not limited to energy efficiency, renewable energy, carbon emissions, and sustainability.
- Excellent research, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using statistical analysis software, databases, and modeling tools.
- Ability to interpret and synthesize complex information and present findings clearly and concisely.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with energy market dynamics, energy management systems, and emerging energy technologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
