Job Purpose:
The Geothermal Energy Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and managing geothermal energy projects, conducting research, and providing technical expertise to support the development, implementation, and optimization of geothermal energy initiatives. The specialist will play a crucial role in advancing the organization's commitment to renewable energy and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement geothermal energy projects, including site selection, resource assessment, drilling, and well field management.
2. Conduct detailed feasibility studies and economic analyses to assess the viability of geothermal projects.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and engineer geothermal power plants, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
4. Provide technical support and guidance in the installation, operation, and maintenance of geothermal systems and equipment.
5. Monitor and evaluate geothermal energy performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and output.
6. Stay updated with latest advancements and trends in geothermal energy technologies, sharing knowledge and best practices across the organization.
7. Prepare and present reports, proposals, and recommendations to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
8. Maintain accurate documentation, data, and records related to geothermal energy projects, including permits, licenses, and compliance reports.
9. Collaborate with external partners, contractors, and suppliers to ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
10. Promote awareness and education on geothermal energy, delivering training programs and workshops to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in geothermal energy development, project management, or related roles.
3. Strong knowledge of geothermal energy principles, technologies, and best practices.
4. Proficiency in geothermal resource assessment, drilling techniques, well field management, and power plant design.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses.
6. In-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks, environmental impact assessments, and permitting processes related to geothermal energy projects.
7. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
9. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, quality, and compliance.
10. Proficient in using relevant software and tools for geothermal energy analysis, modeling, and reporting.
