Job Summary:
The Biomass Plant Operator will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and supervision of all activities related to the biomass power generation plant. The operator will ensure the plant operates within safety and environmental guidelines, while maximizing plant performance and energy output. This role requires a strong understanding of biomass plant operations, equipment maintenance, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Operate and monitor all biomass plant equipment, including boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems, to ensure efficient and safe operation.
2. Conduct regular inspections and routine maintenance tasks to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, leaks, or abnormalities.
3. Monitor and control plant processes, adjusting operational parameters as needed to optimize plant performance and energy production.
4. Perform troubleshooting activities to identify and rectify any operational issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum plant efficiency.
5. Maintain accurate and detailed logbooks, recording plant operations, equipment readings, and maintenance activities.
6. Comply with all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all plant personnel.
7. Participate in plant safety meetings, trainings, and drills to enhance safety awareness and promote a culture of safety.
8. Monitor and maintain fuel supply levels, coordinating with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
9. Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including equipment upgrades and repairs.
10. Maintain and update plant operating procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
11. Assist in the development and implementation of plant improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
12. Coordinate activities and communicate effectively with other plant operators, technicians, and management to ensure smooth plant operations.
13. Stay updated with advancements in biomass plant operations, equipment, and technologies to improve plant performance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in an related field is preferred.
2. Proven experience (minimum 3 years) working in a biomass power plant or similar industrial environment.
3. Strong knowledge of biomass plant operations, including boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
4. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical and mechanical diagrams.
5. Good understanding of safety guidelines and procedures related to power plant operations.
6. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
7. Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance practices for biomass plant equipment.
8. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and work well in a team environment.
10. Attention to detail and accuracy in recording plant operations and maintenance activities.
11. Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
12. Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally for training or professional development.
