Job Description: Financial Controller
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of our organization. Your primary focus will be to ensure accurate financial reporting, develop and implement financial strategies, and provide valuable insights to support informed business decisions.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage financial operations:
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor cash flow, financial statements, and financial performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations.
2. Financial reporting and analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, highlighting trends, variances, and risks to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Present financial reports to senior management, providing clear and concise explanations of financial performance and recommendations.
3. Budgeting and forecasting:
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget adherence, identify deviations, and work with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
- Analyze financial data to provide accurate and realistic forecasts for revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
4. Compliance and risk management:
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Oversee the preparation of tax returns, financial audits, and other compliance-related activities.
- Develop and maintain effective internal control systems to mitigate financial risks.
5. Team management:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations, establish development plans, and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
1. Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
2. Experience:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably within a complex organization.
- Strong background in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, with a track record of driving financial performance and process improvements.
- Experience in managing financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
3. Skills:
- Proficient in financial management software (e.g., ERP systems) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
