Job Description: Finance Manager
Position Overview:
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization. This role plays a critical role in ensuring the financial stability and success of the company, as well as providing strategic financial guidance to the management team. The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and best practices.
2. Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
3. Conduct financial analysis and provide insights on financial performance, trends, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
4. Manage the budgeting process, including the preparation, review, and consolidation of annual budgets, as well as periodic forecasting and variance analysis.
5. Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure appropriate cash management practices are in place to support day-to-day operations.
6. Oversee the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
7. Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
8. Provide financial guidance and support to cross-functional teams, assisting with financial analysis for business cases, investment evaluations, and cost optimization initiatives.
9. Assess and mitigate financial risks, implement effective risk management strategies, and monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures.
10. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and financial best practices, recommending improvements to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Finance Manager or a similar role, demonstrating progressive responsibility in financial management.
3. In-depth knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and practices.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
5. Proficiency in financial management software and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
7. Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
8. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
