Summary:
The Actuarial Coach is responsible for providing guidance and support to actuarial professionals to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance within the organization. This role focuses on mentoring, coaching, and training individuals to excel in actuarial work, ensuring the consistent application of actuarial principles, and optimizing business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert coaching and mentorship to actuarial professionals, assisting them in their professional development and enhancing their actuarial skills.
2. Identify individual learning needs and create tailored coaching plans to address specific skill gaps.
3. Conduct regular performance evaluations to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
4. Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and seminars to enhance actuarial expertise and technical knowledge.
5. Collaborate with the Actuarial Department Manager to establish and maintain a comprehensive training curriculum for actuarial staff.
6. Stay abreast of industry trends, actuarial methodologies, and regulatory changes to ensure training materials and coaching techniques are up to date.
7. Provide guidance on actuarial calculations, modeling techniques, risk assessment, and other relevant areas of actuarial science.
8. Foster a positive learning environment, encouraging continuous improvement and innovation within the actuarial team.
9. Assist in the recruitment and selection process for new actuarial hires, evaluating candidates' technical skills, aptitude, and potential for growth.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
11. Maintain accurate records of coaching activities, employee progress, and training results.
12. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards in all actuarial coaching activities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
2. Professional actuarial designation (e.g., FSA, ASA, ACAS, or equivalent) is required.
3. Minimum of [X] years of experience in actuarial science, preferably in a coaching or mentoring capacity.
