Job Summary:
The Government Affairs Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to engage with government entities, influence public policy decisions, and advocate for the organization's interests. Key Responsibilities:

3. Establish and maintain productive relationships with government officials, policymakers, and relevant industry associations.
4. Represent the organization in meetings, hearings, and conferences to advocate for favorable policies and regulations.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between government affairs efforts and the organization's overall objectives.
6. Prepare and present policy briefs, white papers, and other documents to influence public opinion and shape policy discussions.
7. Analyze proposed legislation and regulations, providing expert advice on potential implications and strategies for compliance.
8. Coordinate with legal counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
9. Conduct research to identify emerging policy issues and trends that may impact the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, government relations, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in government affairs, public policy, or a similar role within a government or public service organization.
3. In-depth knowledge of the legislative and regulatory processes at local, state, and federal levels.
4. Strong understanding of public policy issues and their impact on the organization's industry.
5. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
6. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and other stakeholders.
7. Exceptional analytical and research skills, with the ability to identify key issues and develop strategic recommendations.
8. Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
