Job Summary:
The Physical Education Coach is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive physical education program that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle among students. They will design and deliver engaging physical education lessons, assess students' progress, and provide guidance and support to enhance their physical fitness and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver physical education lessons that align with curriculum standards and promote skill development, coordination, and physical fitness.
2. Create and implement age-appropriate physical education activities, games, and exercises to enhance students' motor skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
3. Assess students' physical abilities and develop individualized plans to address their unique needs and challenges.
4. Provide guidance and support to students, encouraging them to adopt healthy habits and make positive lifestyle choices.
5. Promote a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring that students adhere to safety guidelines and regulations during physical activities.
6. Collaborate with other physical education staff to design and organize sports events, tournaments, and inter-school competitions.
7. Monitor and record students' performance, achievements, and progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and school administration.
8. Maintain an inventory of sports equipment, ensuring its proper use, storage, and maintenance.
9. Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in physical education, incorporating new techniques and strategies into lesson plans.
10. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
2. Professional certification in Physical Education or relevant coaching certifications is preferred.
3. Proven experience as a Physical Education Coach or similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
4. In-depth knowledge of physical education principles, curriculum development, and teaching methodologies.
5. Strong understanding of child development and the ability to tailor physical education programs to suit the needs and abilities of students.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff members.
7. Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students to participate actively in physical activities.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons.
9. Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes, including virtual teaching platforms and educational software.
10. First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
