Position: Yoga and Mindfulness Instructor

Summary:
The Yoga and Mindfulness Instructor will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality yoga and mindfulness classes to students in a physical education setting. The incumbent will create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the benefits of yoga and mindfulness practices to enhance physical health, mental well-being, and overall student development.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate yoga and mindfulness curricula for students.
2. Conduct yoga and mindfulness sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
3. Instruct students on proper breathing techniques, postures, and relaxation exercises.
4. Demonstrate and guide students in correct alignment and modifications to accommodate diverse skill levels and physical abilities.
5. Foster a positive and inclusive class atmosphere, encouraging student participation and interaction.
6. Assess and monitor student progress, providing individual feedback and guidance as needed.
7. Incorporate mindfulness techniques, such as meditation and stress reduction, into yoga sessions.
8. Stay updated on current trends and best practices in yoga and mindfulness instruction.
9. Collaborate with other physical education instructors to integrate yoga and mindfulness principles into broader physical education programs.
10. Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and protocols during yoga sessions.
11. Maintain accurate records of attendance, class progress, and student achievements.
12. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding program details and student performance.
13. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
2. Certification as a Yoga Instructor from a recognized yoga training institute.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching yoga and mindfulness to diverse populations, preferably in an educational or group setting.
4. Strong understanding of yoga philosophy, postures, breathing techniques, and meditation practices.
5. Demonstrated ability to adapt yoga instruction to accommodate varying skill levels and physical limitations.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Passion for promoting physical and mental well-being through the practice of yoga and mindfulness.
8. Ability to establish rapport with students and create a positive learning environment.
9. Knowledge of safety guidelines and ability to ensure a safe environment during yoga sessions.
10. Strong organizational and time management skills.
11. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, if required.
