Position Overview:
The Aquatic Fitness Instructor plays a crucial role in promoting and delivering aquatic fitness programs to individuals of different age groups and skill levels. The instructor is responsible for conducting safe, effective, and engaging aquatic fitness classes, helping participants achieve their fitness goals, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement structured aquatic fitness programs, adhering to established guidelines and industry best practices.
2. Conduct aquatic fitness classes in a safe and effective manner, ensuring participant safety and injury prevention at all times.
3. Provide clear instructions and demonstrate proper techniques for various aquatic exercises, ensuring participants understand and perform movements correctly.
4. Motivate and encourage participants to achieve their fitness goals, providing modifications and individualized attention as needed.
5. Monitor participant progress, offer feedback, and provide ongoing support to ensure continuous improvement.
6. Foster a positive and inclusive environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and camaraderie among participants.
7. Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the aquatic facility and equipment used during classes.
8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new exercises, and advancements in aquatic fitness training, incorporating relevant knowledge into classes.
9. Assist in the promotion and marketing of aquatic fitness programs, attracting new participants and retaining existing members.
10. Collaborate with other fitness professionals and staff to deliver integrated wellness programs and achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field is preferred.
2. Certified Aquatic Fitness Instructor from a recognized organization (e.g., AEA, ACE, AFAA, etc.).
3. Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
4. Proven experience as an Aquatic Fitness Instructor, demonstrating expertise in leading safe and effective classes.
5. In-depth knowledge of aquatic fitness principles, techniques, and best practices.
6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and motivate participants of diverse backgrounds and fitness levels.
7. Excellent organizational and time management skills, ensuring smooth class scheduling and preparation.
8. Ability to adapt to changing participant needs, providing modifications and personalized attention as required.
9. Passion for fitness, health, and wellness, with a genuine interest in helping others achieve their fitness goals.
10. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate class schedules.
