Position Summary:
The Professional Wrestler Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing expert sports medicine and athletic training services to professional wrestlers. This role involves evaluating, preventing, and treating injuries, as well as designing and implementing conditioning programs to enhance performance and minimize risks associated with professional wrestling activities. The Professional Wrestler Athletic Trainer will work closely with wrestlers, coaches, and other medical professionals to ensure the overall health and well-being of the athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess and diagnose injuries sustained by professional wrestlers through comprehensive evaluations and medical histories.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for injured wrestlers, utilizing various therapeutic techniques and modalities.
3. Administer first aid and emergency care as required during wrestling events or training sessions.
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate advanced medical care, including referrals and rehabilitation programs.
5. Provide preventive care through taping, bracing, and other preventive measures to minimize the risk of injuries.
6. Educate wrestlers on injury prevention, proper nutrition, conditioning, and rehabilitation techniques.
7. Conduct pre-participation physical examinations and maintain accurate medical records for all wrestlers.
8. Perform ongoing evaluations to monitor the progress of injured wrestlers and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
9. Attend wrestling events and training sessions to provide immediate medical attention and support.
10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends, techniques, and research in sports medicine and athletic training.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field.
2. Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential by the Board of Certification (BOC).
3. Current state licensure, registration, or certification as required by the regulatory body.
