Position: Aircraft Interior Technician
Job Summary:
The Aircraft Interior Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and modification tasks on aircraft interiors. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of aircraft cabin interiors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on various aircraft interior components, such as seats, carpets, overhead compartments, lavatories, galleys, and other cabin furnishings.
2. Remove, install, and replace aircraft interior components following manufacturer's instructions and maintenance manuals.
3. Repair and refinish interior surfaces, including composite, metal, plastic, and fabric materials, using appropriate techniques and tools.
4. Perform electrical and mechanical installations, repairs, and modifications related to cabin systems, such as lighting, entertainment systems, and communication equipment.
5. Conduct routine maintenance activities, including cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking cabin items, while adhering to industry regulations and safety standards.
6. Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and departments to ensure timely completion of interior maintenance tasks, minimizing aircraft downtime.
7. Document all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, modifications, and parts used, in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
8. Adhere to established quality control processes and perform final inspections to verify that aircraft interiors meet regulatory, customer, and company standards.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to aircraft interior maintenance, ensuring compliance and recommending improvements when necessary.
10. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
11. Comply with safety guidelines and participate in safety programs to promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
2. Certification in Aircraft Interior Technician or relevant field is preferred.
3. Proven experience as an Aircraft Interior Technician or related role.
4. In-depth knowledge of aircraft cabin systems, components, and materials.
5. Proficient in using various hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and testing devices.
6. Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and specifications.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
8. Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all maintenance tasks.
9. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members and document maintenance activities.
10. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
11. Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and on-call shifts, as required.
12. Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in confined spaces.
13. Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety procedures is preferred.
