Job Description: Flight Test Engineer (Aviation and Aerospace - Aeronautical Engineering)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Test Engineer to join our team in the Aviation and Aerospace industry. As a Flight Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the testing and evaluation of aircraft performance, systems, and components. Your expertise will contribute to the development and improvement of aircraft design, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, coordinate, and execute flight test programs to assess aircraft performance, stability, control, and aerodynamic characteristics.
2. Conduct pre-flight preparations, including reviewing test plans, determining instrumentation requirements, and ensuring proper configuration of test equipment.
3. Monitor and record aircraft performance data during flight tests, utilizing onboard data acquisition systems and other relevant tools.
4. Analyze flight test data to evaluate aircraft performance, flight qualities, and system functionality.
5. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues encountered during flight tests, proposing and implementing appropriate solutions.
6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including aeronautical engineers, pilots, and technicians, to ensure seamless test operations and accurate interpretation of test results.
7. Prepare detailed flight test reports, summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for further improvements.
8. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, regulatory guidelines, and emerging technologies related to flight testing and aeronautical engineering.
9. Assist in the development and validation of flight simulation models for testing aircraft performance and systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Flight Test Engineer in the aviation and aerospace industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of flight testing techniques, including instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and flight test procedures.
4. Strong understanding of aeronautical principles and aircraft systems.
5. Proficiency in flight dynamics, aerodynamics, and aircraft performance analysis.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
7. Ability to interpret and analyze flight test data using specialized software tools.
8. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex technical information clearly.
9. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple flight test projects simultaneously.
10. Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
