Job Summary:
The Youth Services Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the youth services program within the nonprofit organization. This includes developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies and initiatives to support the needs of youth in the community. The Youth Services Director will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that promote positive youth development and address specific challenges faced by young people.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive youth services program, including the design of age-appropriate activities, events, and interventions.
2. Create and manage a safe and inclusive environment for youth to engage in educational, recreational, and supportive activities.
3. Collaborate with community partners to identify and address the needs of at-risk youth, ensuring that services are aligned with best practices and evidence-based approaches.
4. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a team of staff and volunteers to effectively deliver youth services.
5. Develop and manage the youth services budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately and utilized efficiently.
6. Establish and maintain effective relationships with funding agencies, government entities, and other organizations to secure financial support and resources for youth programs.
7. Conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify emerging trends, gaps in services, and opportunities for program enhancement.
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to youth services, including child protection and confidentiality.
9. Monitor program outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of youth services through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
10. Plan and execute effective communication strategies to promote youth services and engage with stakeholders, including youth, families, and community members.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience working in youth services or a related field, with a proven track record of program development and management.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of youth development principles, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices in serving diverse youth populations.
4. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of staff and volunteers.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Proficient in budget management, financial planning, and grant writing.
7. Ability to think strategically, analyze complex issues, and make informed decisions to achieve program objectives.
8. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to youth services and nonprofit management.
9. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
10. Commitment to cultural competency, diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of youth services.
