Job Description: Rehabilitation Counselor
Position Summary:
The Rehabilitation Counselor will provide professional counseling services to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in achieving their rehabilitation goals and maximizing their independence. This role involves conducting assessments, developing individualized plans, and delivering counseling interventions to promote clients' physical, psychological, and vocational well-being. Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients' strengths, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.

3. Provide counseling and guidance to individuals with disabilities, addressing their emotional, social, and vocational concerns.
4. Deliver evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques to enhance clients' overall functioning and coping abilities.

6. Advocate for clients' rights and needs within various systems, including medical, educational, and vocational settings.
7. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including medical professionals, psychologists, and social workers, to develop holistic treatment plans.
8. Monitor clients' progress, evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes.
9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, adhering to ethical and legal guidelines.
10. Stay informed about advancements in rehabilitation counseling practices and participate in continuous professional development activities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in counseling individuals with disabilities, preferably within a rehabilitation or social services setting.
3. Strong knowledge of disability-related issues, including physical, cognitive, and psychological impairments.
4. Familiarity with various counseling theories and techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy.
5. Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships.
7. Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
8. Knowledge of community resources and support services available to individuals with disabilities.
