Job Title: Carpentry Supervisor
Job Description:
The Carpentry Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all carpentry activities within the organization. This includes managing a team of carpenters, ensuring efficient project execution, and maintaining high-quality standards in all carpentry tasks. The Carpentry Supervisor will collaborate closely with other departments, such as project management and procurement, to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and lead a team of carpenters, providing guidance, instruction, and support to ensure the timely completion of projects.
2. Plan, schedule, and assign carpentry tasks to the team, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring adherence to project timelines.
3. Monitor and inspect ongoing carpentry work to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
4. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to carpentry team members, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary training or development programs.
5. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to review project requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure accurate interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
6. Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure the availability of required materials, tools, and equipment for carpentry projects.
7. Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and labor hours, and prepare reports as required.
8. Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices, promoting a safe working environment for the carpentry team.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and materials, and make recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
10. Resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise within the carpentry team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Carpentry Supervisor or similar role.
2. In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, tools, and equipment.
3. Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
4. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
5. Proficient in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution.
6. Solid understanding of safety regulations and the ability to enforce compliance among team members.
7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
8. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
