Summary:
The Biodynamic Farm Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a sustainable agriculture biodynamic farm. This role requires expertise in sustainable farming practices, biodynamic principles, and a deep understanding of environmental science. The Biodynamic Farm Manager will lead a team of farmworkers, ensuring efficient farm management, high-quality crop production, and adherence to biodynamic principles.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement sustainable farming practices in accordance with biodynamic principles.
2. Plan and supervise all farm operations, including crop cultivation, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
3. Manage and maintain farm infrastructure, including equipment, tools, and machinery.
4. Monitor and optimize soil health through composting, crop rotation, and other organic farming techniques.
5. Oversee the planning and planting of crops, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
6. Supervise and train farmworkers, assigning tasks and providing guidance to ensure productivity and adherence to biodynamic practices.
7. Monitor crop growth and health, identifying and addressing any issues or diseases in a timely manner.
8. Implement and maintain effective pest and weed management strategies, minimizing the use of chemical interventions.
9. Collaborate with the Director of Sustainable Agriculture to develop and manage the farm budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (at least 5 years) in managing a biodynamic farm or organic farm with hands-on involvement in sustainable farming practices.
3. Strong understanding of biodynamic principles and their application in agriculture.
4. Proficiency in implementing and managing sustainable agricultural techniques, such as crop rotation, composting, and natural pest control.
5. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
6. In-depth knowledge of environmental science, soil health, and ecosystem dynamics.
7. Familiarity with farm equipment and machinery, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain them.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address issues in crop health and farm management.
