Job Summary:
The Aquaculture Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and management of aquaculture facilities. This role involves working closely with the Aquaculture Manager to ensure the efficient production and maintenance of aquatic organisms. The Aquaculture Technician will be responsible for monitoring water quality, feeding and caring for aquatic species, maintaining equipment, and assisting with research and data collection.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily tasks related to the care and feeding of aquatic species, including monitoring and adjusting water quality parameters, feeding schedules, and health assessments.
2. Assist in the maintenance and operation of aquaculture systems, including tanks, filters, pumps, and aeration systems.
3. Conduct routine cleaning and disinfection of tanks, equipment, and facilities to maintain optimal hygiene and prevent the spread of diseases.
4. Assist in the collection and analysis of data related to aquaculture production, growth rates, feed utilization, and environmental factors.
5. Follow established protocols for disease prevention, biosecurity measures, and emergency response procedures.
6. Collaborate with the Aquaculture Manager in implementing best practices for the improvement of production efficiency and animal welfare.
7. Support the planning and execution of research projects and experiments, including data collection, sample collection, and laboratory analysis.
8. Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies, feed, and equipment, and ensure their availability for daily operations.
9. Participate in the development and implementation of safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Aquaculture, Marine Biology, or a related field.

3. Strong knowledge of aquaculture principles, practices, and species-specific requirements.
4. Proficient in monitoring and maintaining water quality parameters, such as pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, and salinity.
5. Familiarity with aquaculture systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
6. Excellent observational skills and ability to identify signs of stress, disease, or abnormal behavior in aquatic organisms.
