Job Description: Network SD-WAN Administrator
Position Overview:
The Network SD-WAN Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the organization's Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical background in network engineering, with a focus on SD-WAN technologies. The Network SD-WAN Administrator will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of the network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement SD-WAN solutions based on business requirements and industry best practices.
- Configure and maintain SD-WAN controllers, edge devices, and network equipment.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Conduct regular network capacity planning to anticipate future growth and scalability needs.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate SD-WAN infrastructure with existing systems and applications.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Perform regular network audits and vulnerability assessments to proactively identify and address security risks.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, ensuring prompt resolution of network-related issues.
- Document network configurations, changes, and incidents accurately and comprehensively.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in SD-WAN technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or administration.
- In-depth knowledge of SD-WAN technologies, protocols, and architectures.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing SD-WAN controllers, gateways, and edge devices.
- Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols, such as BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
- Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and integration with SD-WAN.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve network issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and end-users.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to documenting network configurations and changes accurately.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or SD-WAN-specific certifications are highly desirable.
