Job Description: Network Analyst
The Network Analyst is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of the organization's network infrastructure. This individual will be an integral part of the IT team and will play a vital role in maintaining network stability, troubleshooting network issues, and implementing network improvements. The Network Analyst will also collaborate with other IT professionals to support the organization's technology infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and administer the organization's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) environments.
2. Monitor network performance, identify areas of concern, and proactively resolve network-related issues.
3. Configure and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
4. Collaborate with IT teams to design, implement, and upgrade network infrastructure as per business requirements.
5. Implement and maintain network security measures to protect the organization's data and systems.
6. Monitor and manage network traffic to ensure optimal performance and identify potential bottlenecks.
7. Analyze network protocols, bandwidth utilization, and network capacity planning.
8. Conduct network assessments and provide recommendations for network optimization and improvement.
9. Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing among team members.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in network engineering.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Proven experience working as a Network Analyst or in a similar network engineering role.
3. In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security principles.
4. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
5. Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or similar.
6. Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting network devices such as Cisco routers and switches.
7. Solid understanding of network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
8. Familiarity with network management and monitoring systems.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve network issues.
10. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
