Job Summary:
The Juniper Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Juniper network infrastructure. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide effective network solutions and ensure the smooth operation of the organization's network systems. The Juniper Network Engineer will possess extensive knowledge of Juniper network devices, protocols, and technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy Juniper network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Configure and troubleshoot Juniper network devices to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop network solutions that meet business requirements.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for Juniper network infrastructure, including monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Conduct network assessments and propose improvements to enhance network security, performance, and efficiency.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the networking field, particularly related to Juniper devices.
- Participate in network-related projects, including network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain accurate network documentation.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve network issues and implement network changes.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior network engineers.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Juniper Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of Juniper network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, and VPN.
- Proficient in network troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and network management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex network issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Juniper certifications, such as JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIP, are highly desirable.
